Claymore 2026

Since info about the show seems to have been entirely available on FaceBleugh, I thought I'd post a note here for any like me who don't visit that "wretched hive of scum and villainy."

Claymore 2026 will take place on Saturday 1st August 2026, hosted by SESWC

10am to 4pm at the usual venue:

Granton Campus, 350 West Granton Road, Edinburgh, EH5 1QE.

Be warned, it seems to be referring to itself as Claymore V2.0. I've yet to meet a self proclaimed V2.0 of anything that wasn't just a tackier, greedier and less functional version of the original. Ah well, Semper Spero! I'll be there, ailments permitting.

Ah! That would explain my inability to find any info on anything other than time, date and place.


Derek's death was my signal to let my kids know my email and phone codes so that, should the worst happen, they could contact people and let them know.

I'd been at Deep Fried Lard with him the previous weekend and the last thing I said to him was,"See you for this next year, if not before."

Now after Carronade and Claymore (sans Pendraken) have concluded, my verdict:

Pendraken were missed, especially at Claymore. While Carronade got larger, Claymore this year was Atrium, Hall 1 and Flea Market. An upside for me was the dramatic collapse of "3D printers". Maybe some of them figured out they all go the same stuff and punters by those items at half price online.

I demoed for two companies (actually 1 only) and from where we stand there were fewer people than previous years.

If I had the manpower I could run demos for these two companies, one or two of my own rulesets plus an Arnhem or Pegasus bridge scenario.

@Leon, any chance for a Pegasus Bridge or Arnhem Bridge?

Well, I made it to Claymore 2026 and had a great time. Lots of conversations with people I only ever see at conventions these days.

I managed to keep my spend down to a mere £30!

The place seemed fairly busy and there were lots of games to play.

I had a great time.

I took pictures of what I hope were all of the games being played at Claymore. My apologies if I missed any.

Some amazing looking games - thanks for sharing the photos

That Arnhem game looks amazing, but must have been a pain to play with so many figures to move along the road (though I suspect that was part of the point of it!). Reminds me a bit of the WWII wargames we used to play with 100s of individually based airfix style figures - and no movement trays!

Do you know what the space marine game with the big red circle round the table - which seems to be part of the game was (or what the big red circle was doing)?

I have a feeling the huge column may have been set dressing, I may well be wrong, as all the action seemed to be on the flanks and head of them. It was very impressive none the less. If anyone knows better let usknow!

Big red circle? No idea, sorry. The player sheets were marked Gyroball Gymkhana 2026 if that's any sort of clue. Everyone involved seemed deep in conversation with either players or other attendees so I left them to it and intended to come back later but by "later" hips, knees and ankles were all for me heading home.

Thanks, Techno. I enjoy doing it. Keeps me from adding too much to the lead mountain range as I'm too busy photographing to spend cash on things I want but don't need.

We do have a Pegasus Bridge design in the 'Pending' column, in 28mm MDF, but it's a really complicated build and I want to simplify it down before we release it.  Once it's done we can shrink it to other scales too.
