I tried to do an image search for "80's fantasy movie female warrior" to illustrate that sort of thing - big hair, giant sword, chainmail bikini - but the results were completely swamped by obviously AI-generated rubbish.

fsn - the entry for the Mounted Warriors states that the pack contains 6 terror birds and 6 riders, which implies the riders are separate?

Not quite, Peter.

The riders' legs are modelled directly onto the birds.....the torsos are separate, so the bows can be angled whichever way folk want. At least, I think that's what I did. (Gibber)

If you want images of real people rather than AI slop try adding "cosplay" to your search and, if you have the option in your browser, hide AI. It won't get rid of the AI stuff entirely but it will raise the ratio of real to fake .... with the possible exception of a certain area of the female anatomy.

Anyway, all very useful if  Pendraken do a female barbarian range. However, Amazons are not barbarians.

Mr Insect had it right - Scythian horse archers for history. Either that or a very respectable khiton(?)

I don't know if any of the Pendraken Scythian LC horse archers are split at the waist models, but then you could put the top half of the 'terror bird' mtd archers on the bottom half + horse of the Scythians, & Bob's your auntie

Does anyone know if the difference between the 10mm regular Pendraken and the 12mm Warband would make Mr Insect's suggestion unwise?

From a Greek perspective they are.The original Pendraken  Amazons were very easy to paint

Possibly. But the TB line horses are much bigger than the Pendraken historicals and several of these have separate rider upper bodies.
