Stabilisation Rules

Hi. I have a question about Stabilisation.
The rules seem to have conflicting info.
From my understanding, a unit with "S" has no modifiers when moving and shooting in the same action.
A unit with "S1" loses 1d6 from its attacks.
A unit without either cannot move and shoot as a single action.
There was something about a -2 modifier on Page 110 with three optional point costs.
I'd appreciate confirmation/clarification.
Cheers, Ian.

Ian, I'm afraid I know next to nothing about stabilisation in either the real world or the rules.

However, as that's your first post here, "Welcome to the forum!"

Although the denizens of this place are, by and large, well read, well informed and well intentioned folk they have elevated thread derailment to an art form. Should things turn strange before you get a sensible answer to your question from Big Insect themselves or from one of the other players of the rules do not despair. Cough politely and remind all and sundry of the original request.

If you want advice on paint schemes/ painting techniques/ orders of battle/ tables of organisation and the like there are some very helpful and knowledgeable people here who are very willing to help.

Also, we like pictures! If you want to show off your forces the best way to do it is to host the pictures somewhere and link to the images there. Hosting them here means they will be very small, though that's always an option.

Once again, welcome. Have fun!

More for CWC but S1 - 1 die if moving, S2 -2 . Also can only do 1/2 move. Also welcome and beware, some of us is real grumpy.

Hi there (& welcome to the forum)

There is a known errata with Stabilization in FWCII (it is on the list for correction and being added to the Rules Errata sheet).
There are (in effect 4 stages of Stabilization):
1). no stabilization (so no 'S' designation) = cannot move and shoot
2). 'S' = can move and shoot with no penalty
3). 'S1' = can move and shoot with a -1 d:6 penalty
4). 'S2' = can move and shoot with a -2 d:6 penalty
All other shooting factors or bonuses/penalties apply as normal.
Unlike CWC there is no movement restriction related to using a Stabilized weapon.

This will be corrected in the on-line lists and in the main body of the rules at the next (1st) Errata sheet upload.

Thanks
Mark
NB: apologies for the US spellings - the forum seems to prefer it that way.
