Hi all,

Would any of you fine people be based in or around Rutland, UK?

Having lost my regular gaming friends a few years ago, I've been searching for anyone local who would be up for an occasional social game, but to no avail.

I am aware of a few reasonably-local groups, but either their schedule doesn't align with my free time, or they're focused solely on GW games (which I'm not interested in).

Many thanks,
Duncan

Hello.

Surely, depending whereabouts in the county you are, you could pick an optimum corner (be it front garden or back garden) and shout*. Everybody else in Rutland should be able to hear you. Unless they've got headphones on.

* If you are in the middle of the county, pop up onto the roof to shout.

I'll get my coat. I blame The Rutles.

Welcome, I'm now on the other side of the country.

Might be worth popping along to the local gaming groups - even if just to meet people, they might play non-GW games as well, or know of other gamers.

Thank you all for the welcome. Feels odd, as I've been a daily visitor to this forum for a long time, but I realise now that I've been a lurker for far too long without posting anything - guess I'll try harder to change that.

@Radar - :D It does feel like that at times, but still finding it hard to find like-minded gamers. I do also appreciate playing small scale miniatures in the smallest county in England. Perhaps that could be my USP. :)

@fred - That's a good suggestion, which I have already pursued actually and raised a few potential opportunities, but unfortunately lead to nothing. I'm still in touch with them however, so ever hopeful.

Welcome to the forum, Rutland is a bit far away for me.

I'm south of Grantham which isn't a million miles away and can concur that there's not much activity in the local area (which is bizarre as Newark is just up the road)
