That all sounds fun. Simple is often best.
When say 'saw off' the opposing gangs are you using weaoons,or physical combat or just retoric  ;D  How are the rival gangs generated & operated?

Rhetoric and reasoned dialogue would have been more successful,  A combination of short range weaponry and brute force was used. Combat is short and brutal as suits are more fragile than humans. Ranges are very short for shooting, so getting up close and personal appears to be the way forwards.

As to rival gang composition, as this was the starter scenarios, they were generic bad guys that appear on a hazard roll. They move towards your gang members, shoot at range and come in to fight. The ones we met were not as skilled as us (and seeing our miss rate, that's a good thing), but I'm sure as scenarios develop they will become harder. I suspect this was a 'taster' gang that was balanced for playtesting,
As I get the feeling that the real rules will allow you to choose your own gangs, with strengths and weaknesses, and there was certainly talk of skill progression and improved equipment as campaigns go on, hopefully opposing gangs would also be varied by encounter.

Sounds great! Is it by the same guy who wrote Zona Alfa (which I like very much)?

The premise sounds similar to Space Station Zero, which I also like and would recommend.

I'm also a big fan of Zona-Alpha hence my questions.
The primitive (post-modern) approach to the space suits and weapons is a good one IMHO - more 'the Expanse' or 'Space 1999' than Star Trek or Star Wars.

I discovered that a wrecker bar (oversized crowbar) had more than one use and is very handy in melee with pirate scavengers! Oh course our team were a salvage team, not pirate scavengers!

Big Insect: This very much has an Expanse vibe to me!
