Is anybody else looking forward to this?
The trailer looks fun.
I hope they give Skeletor his iconic voice and personality!

I was always more of a Thundercats fan myself but the Masters of the Universe film could be a giggle.

Yeah, Thundercats is also cool.
I love how over the top Mumm-Ra is.
They really knew how to make a good villain in those days!

Last Hussar

I was more Ulysses 31 fan - was years later I found out it was heavily based on the actual legends, rather than just a light touch.

Also Dogtanian was good, until they extended the source material with 'The Blue Falcon'.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

I never watched Dogtanian, but Ulysses 31 was good, I don't think they'd ever make a movie of it though as I suspect it doesn't have the name recognition of He-man or the Thundercats.

I can remember the adverts for the Dolph Lundgren Masters of the Universe movie. Well, the movie-tie-in toys anyway, as I pestered my parents for one of the figures. I'm sure they were broadcast around the time of the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics.

I recognise all those cartoons and definitely watched them as a young child. Another I enjoyed was The Cities of Gold (which may not be it's name).

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

Lister: "Rimmer, aliens used our bog roll?"

I was a big fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Sometime around 1990 (iirc) I was in Toys R Us with my older son and they were stocking shelves with Turtles action figures.

Number One Son decided he wanted a Turtle. I tried to dissuade him, convinced nobody would know who they were. But he was adamant so we got a turtle.

Next day BBC airs TMNT on TV.

Number One Son wants more turtles.

Following day we are back in Toys R Us. Shelves that were stacked high with TMNT action figures now empty.

Thank goodness we got the first one or I'd have been in "Jingle All The Way" territory!

It was a decent roll playing game until the xartton made it cute!

I know I'm straying off the original topic, but I could never understand the name alteration for the Turtles.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And. Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.

My parents adamantly refused to allow me to own any of the Turtles toys. I remember children going down the sewers was a news headline around the time of the TV broadcasts.

Also, Toys R Us. The shops we visited in England. The entrance was on the left-hand-side of the building's front and the exit was on the right-hand-side, with the checkouts matching. We went to the Flower Show held in Cardiff and visited their Toys R Us, and the shop layout was opposite to the English stores we'd visited. Don't know if that was just the Cardiff store.

The BBC did not like the word "ninja" - implied violence.

Re: Toys'R'Us - our local store was entrance on the right, exit on the left. And it's definitely in England.

I always hated those shops, because they seem to assume your were a shoplifter as soon as you entered. IKEA is now the same.

Roy

Now you mention it, I'm questioning myself over my memories of the shop's layout. (Second time in less than 7 days where my memory's iffy over the 1990s ;D ) I definitely remember the Cardiff shop being the other way around from the stores we'd visited in England, but I suppose the four or five we'd been to isn't a large number for me to make such a statement.

Lots of FUD about nunchucks and shurikens at the time.

My memory of the Edinburgh store was that entry/exit was pretty central to the frontage. But my memory is not what .... what was I saying?  ;D ;D ;D

Sadly, if the media are to be believed, it seems to be an increasingly correct assumption.  :(
