The Show is on June the 6th 2026, but will be in a new Venue, Falkirk High School.

It's a better venue that Graeme High which we've been in for many years now, but with the transfer of ownership of a lot of the schools and facilities in our are we've taken the decision to move it. Bit more floor space, all on the ground floor, same distance from the Town Center and stations for anyone commuting, own car park etc. Catering will be external, but otherwise all good.

I'll get the website updated at some point to reflect the changes, but for the moment it's just the notification.

Just checked out the site on google streetview.

What is the Plan B for when the school car park is full.

Excellent, thanks for the rapid update.

10 min walk (according to google maps) Falkirk Community Hospital along the road has additional parking as it's closed to outpatients on a Saturday.

I'll be getting all of this info up on the website in the next week or so, and will do my best to keep it up to date as I'm sure there will be a number of issues we haven't thought of yet/or will need clarification.

That's interesting news, is this new venue one large hall or multiple halls like Graeme High?  And what's the access like for unloading?

From those that went to see the location.... There is a large Refectory and assembly hall (That can be combined into 1 bigger hall) there is also a sports hall along a hallway that is about the same length as the joining hall at Graeme High.

We'll be using the drop off/pick up area for trader parking and (I'm assuming for the moment) that we will have a very similar access via fire doors etc

Excellent, sounds good to me.  I noticed that it's quite close to the other Premier Inn, so I'll check the prices and see if it's any cheaper than our usual one at the A9/M9 junction.

For those not already aware, we have had to change the date of Carronade 2026, it will now be hosted on the 6th June at the new venue, Falkirk High School.

I have no idea how to edit the original post to change the date and subject, so I'll post a new topic tomorrow.

Techno 3

I'll edit it as soon as I've had my 'tea'. :)
I'll do this later

Techno 3

Done. :)

Shout if it's still incorrect.

As far as modifying a message is concerned, you only have 30 minutes. (I think  :-\ )

If you're too late just ask. ;)

It's a shame it's had to move. Carronade has been one of my top 3 shows in recent years.

Getting to the new venue is going to be much more hassle. Which may mean dropping it off my calendar.

That's all good, thank you. Months after the first post wasn't going to work, but alas plans change unfortunately, and the new date is likely to become a permanent fixture unless a certain someone retires from the local council sharpish.

Do you mind if I ask what the difference would be for getting to the new venue? I've been to see it since the original post and I agree with the others that it's a better venue overall, and generally speaking transport is very similar with on site parking available, secondary parking and the train station is about the same distance away and there is a good bus route with a stop nearby. So It'd be good to provide feedback or get better local knowledge from those who live nearby.

Very close to the truth Jim, In to get my leg dealt with every couple of days at the moment.

I'm on first name terms with all the Practice Nurses at the Health Centre.

I don't drive so car parking etc doesn't matter.

Previous venue, I could get a bus from St John's Road in Edinburgh that dropped me off opposite the playing fields at Graeme High School. The distance from the bus stop to the entrance to the venue was right about the limit of how far I can walk in one go. Bus back was the same.

As far as I can tell, new venue means into Falkirk then another bus to the High School. I'm glad to hear there is one. It's all just adding time taken to get there and back.

Train. I'd have to go into town to Haymarket or Waverley. That's 30 minutes or so heading in the wrong direction. Besides I have a bus pass not a train pass.

I like Carronade. One of my top 3 shows. I wish it well in it's new home.

However, the old venue was already on the edge of the effort I was willing to make. The new one may be a bus trip too far.
