QuoteIs anyone having issues getting onto the Forum?  Since the Cloudflare outage last week I've not been able to access it from home, only from the work machine.
No problems here.

I would recommend restarting the router.

Nother silly solution - reset by pushing a thin object into the small hole in the back. You'll still get the scream from upstairs.

I've done the usual hard refresh / cache clear on the various devices so I'll wait until the youngest is asleep and do a reset on the router.

I recomend Duct Tape. You will not get the unearthly scream when you reset it.

Went to Aldi, got seduced by the middle aisle*.

They've got Airfix starter sets - kit, glue, paints - for £6.99. Spitfire, Bf109, Mustang and Zero. And a DUKW.

Picked up the Zero, as you do.

So now I'm going to building a plastic kit, for the first time in years.

* There was a BBC news item on the 'cult' of the middle aisle in Lidl and/ or Aldi a while ago. All I can remember is a poem:

"It makes no sense,
it makes no sense,
went in for milk,
came out with a fence."

Describes it perfectly, I think.

I think the Aldi middle aisle is a perfect match of impulse purchase availablity and perception of value and FOMO!!

Good luck on the Zero kit - one of the downsides of Airfix is the kits are exactly the same sprues as back in the day, just in shiny new boxes. If you enjoy the build well worth exploring some of the more modern kits, in the wargaming space Plastic Soldier Company ones are great, give loads of build options without having too many pieces to make the build tedious, although availability seems a little odd more recently.

I ended up building a 15mm desert force as I enjoyed making plastic kits again for the first time in an age!

Plastic Soldier Company are very hard to get hold of. Everything on thier website in 1/72 scale seems to be out of stock. People advertising on Ebay are also out of stock. They ahve always been a bit of "feast or Famine", with some kits being plentiful and others hard to get, depending on what had come in from China

I ordered a box of M4A2 Shermans from Germany in the end. It worked out as cheap as getting them over here even with postage.

Rumour on TMP suggests they are having Issues getting sprues moulded in China due to high demand for use of the injection moulding machines.

Checks prices of modern plastic kits - yeah, not going to happen. If this goes well I may go back to Aldi for the Spitfire & Bf109.

Re: Plastic Soldier - looks interesting, but yeah, everything seems to out of stock, and they now seem to be pushing 3D printed rather than polystyrene?

Me too, and a DUKW. Although I suspect the brushes and glue will be the most useful addition to my inventory....
