What Dave didn't mention was that I started putting out the Union troops in the wrong deployment positions, as I was reading the battlefield from bottom-to-top upside-down 

I tell you, in the Antietam game I miss a ford crossing over Antietam Creek and in this one, I set up my troops in the enemy's deployment zone  You can tell I never went to West Point

First: well done on a really nice looking game and a good report.

Second: it looks as though the Union won by "owning the turn clock" and "running the turn clock down early". I'm curious to know what you think this represents in terms of decisions by the Union commanders and actions by Union troops. How would you rationalise these game effects in real-world terms?
