Aircraft Fire Zones

On p.52 it talks about ground-attack aircraft's fire zone being oriented with the long side "in the direction of the attack".  We couldn't find any reference to what the direction of the attack was.  Is this chosen by the player with the aircraft or is it determined in some other way?

Direction of attack is along flight path, from table edge.

Great thanks.  Is that stated somewhere in the rules?

I doubt it, its been taken as obvious I suspect. Beware assumptions.

Chosen by the attacking player, in relation to the attacking aircrafts position on the table.
