"Guy who paints all his minis before buying more"?

I have heard tales of such a creature, but I attach no credence upon them. How can one exist if one has no Lead Mountain?

Oh! Unless they're a "modeller". Or someone who is addicted to the Evil Empire. I can see why you could only afford to paint 3 figures per month.

Paints. All. His. Figures. Before. Buying. More.

I mean, I understand each word. They are English words. Syntactically it makes sense.

It's the semantics that doesn't make sense. Paints ALL his Figures. What, ALL? This would mean he has NO unpainted Figures.

The implication is he buys what he needs, that the purchase is planned, and fits into an overall scheme.

You may need to reread that last sentence again, slowly.  I can assure you it is a correctly parsed phrase.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

As I said yesterday elsewhere on the internet

"I intend to die with a collection of unpainted lead to rival the terracotta army in volume if not value."

I've theorised for a while now that if people, overnight, decided to buy only figures that they were definitely going to paint, and barred themselves from buying more until the current ones are painted, the industry would generally go bust in a few months.
So maybe the viability of producers and hence the availability of figures hinges on the fact that we don't paint all our figures?

Orcs

I believe the following are real, even though I have never seen a real one :-

Orcs/Goblins
Elves
Hobbits
Dwarves
Dragons
Genies
Unicorns
Pegasus
Space Marines

But NEVER!, EVER! would I believe in a guy who had painted all his wargames figures.

OK not quite - there is an Airfix Bismark not made, and a Russian style 1/72 Tanky type thing 1/2 finished. Should I count the 33% of a Western building I have as well ?

Wasn't it Mr Coleman - he of Colmans Mustard 'fame' - that stated that he made his profits from the mustard that we all left on the side of the plate at the end of the meal, rather than the small amount we actually ate.

It's a lot like that with acrylic soldier paint - I always just run out of a 'blob' just before I finish the unit, and then put too much onto the palette to finish the job  ;D  ;D  ;D and end up wasting it.
