QuoteI really don't think empirical is the word you want.

I'm fine with it, there's a rich vein of Empires in Sci-Fi lore so we're not breaking new ground there.

QuoteI must admit I'm slightly surprised at 6 different human ranges - but nice variety.

The humans are the easiest to do as they're all standard dollies underneath with the same heads/faces.  We'll be moving onto the 'alien' ranges in the new year as they'll need either their own dollies making or a set of heads that Techno can attach to the standard dollies.  (Just because trying to sculpt the same alien-shaped head on every figure isn't fun!)

QuoteAre the Bean weapons some sort of gas warfare weapon? ;D  ;D

That might be a spellchecker issue...!  The background fluff is from Mark Fry (in advance of the Future War rules) so that might be 'beam' weapons instead?

Quote from: Orcs on 19 October 2023, 09:44:43 AMI must say these are lovely sculpts. am i right in seeing Techno at work here?

It is yep!  He'll be starting on the next ranges once we get past Christmas.

Quote from: Raider4 on 19 October 2023, 11:30:31 AMVery interesting. For me, it will all depends how they're packaged.

Currently they'll be packaged to go along with the Future War rules, so we've designed the ranges to fit around the unit types in FWC.  A pack of 30 infantrymen would give 5 or 6 Infantry units in the game, a pack of 4 mortar teams would give 2 Mortar units, etc.  Command packs will have added tables, computer consoles, etc to pack out a Command unit base.

So difficult to decide! (*knows will pick them all*)

I'm particularly taken with the missile troops. And the senior officers. And the gun crew (are there some nice guns coming?*) The regular infantry are top class, and there's plenty of scope in the heavy weapons.

*If not, I'm going to the Falklands War Argentines.

The support weapons and vehicles should be printed by Monday pm so I'll get photos of those taken as well.  I'm really excited about these as the designer has done a cracking job on them for us.  Most of the ranges have got fancy mortars, rocket launchers, drones, light and heavy artillery, and multiple vehicles too.

Quote from: Orcs on 19 October 2023, 09:41:11 AMHuman corporate have some interesting weapons:-

"They are avid users of Xeno technology, especially exotic metals, bean weapons, anti-grav tech and force-fields.

Are the Bean weapons some sort of gas warfare weapon? ;D  ;D

'Bean' weapons could be very dangerous - they will create total chaos and mayhem when they hit their target (sorry that might be Mr Bean weapons, I stand corrected).  However ... it is more than likely my dyslexia striking again ... and yes it should read 'Beam' weapons.

I already have 3mm, 6mm, 15mm, 20mm and 28mm scale sci-fi figures .... so clearly I need some 10mm to fill the gap!

I may also need a new house to store them!
