In early 2016 I started an imperial roman project after picking up a starter army cheap off a Facebook trading group. I then picked up some of the brand new sculpts from Salute that year and too my shame they have all sat unpainted since then bar one base of legionnaires I posted back in 2016.
After the usual summer lull, too much cricket on TV, and back into painting season which coincides with z list celebrities dancing on a Saturday night I needed a project to get my mojo back and so I reached into the lead mountain and pulled out this 10mm project.
I started with a unit of old sculpts Auxiliary infantry and quite happy with how they turned out.

I find this interesting, as I'm painting some Imperial Romans at the moment. Not visible is my childish inability to resist painting at least one of the standards with red, yellow and green medals, just so they looked like a traffic light.   

Have you considered some shield decals? I got mine from Veni Vidi Vici http://www.3vwargames.co.uk/upshop/shop/10mmtransfer.html and they're not as bad to put on as I thought they were going to be. Only problem is the legionary with the gladius that pokes out in front of the shield; the sword interferes with the decal.

Hi Fsn thanks for the idea I will look into these.  I have some 3d printed romans from another manufacturer who have the shield designs printed on them I will post in the non Pendraken section 😀
I have completed another unit of new style Auxiliaries and some old style Pratorians

Rerebooting my imperial Romans, due to having to leave Salute early, due to a family emergency, i had no chance to buy anything new which means I have to finish something I had already started!
