Hello all,

If i have an infantry unit in a truck. The infantry unit has no mechanized ability. Is it correct that the truck can drive directly into the assault, essentially becoming the assaulting unit, and on contact the infantry dismounts within 5cn of the truck?

I do see where soft-skins can't initiate an assault but the next paragraph gives me pause, although one interpretation can be that the transport is the recipient of an assault and that "transport" refers to more than just soft-skinned vehicles.

So if the above is false and it is indeed correct that a truck can NOT initiate an assault (drive into an enemy unit) am I correct in the below?

a. drive toward the enemy (1st command roll)
b. stop greater than 5cm from the enemy
c. infantry dismounts (2nd command roll)
d. infantry assaults (3rd command roll)

I hope this makes sense and thanks in advance as always.  PS finally got my hardcopy of BKIV love it!

Also I do appreciate that in many instances the infantry would de-truck well away from the enemy and go on foot.

I just want to make sure I have the sequence and or rule correct.

Thanks
