Hello everyone!

A good sugestion I could make to our friends of Pendraken is to expand a bit further their ranges on the Thirty Years War including some units for the Portuguese and Spanish armies covering the early 17th up to the 1650's. I believe the current figures of pikeman, musketeers and cavalry on TYW and ECW, contemplate those ranges very well. But there are three types of units miss-represented:

1. The unarmoured Rodeleros. A quick conversion of the "Sword and bucklermen in morion" from Elisabethan range would be enough to contemplate that, just creating a figure without armour and maiby with the head of the ECW Unarmoured Pikeman in hat.

2. Dismounted arquebusiers advancing and firing. If some of them were on their barefoot this could supply figures for early colonial wargaming as well.

3. Cavalry lancers with morion and or hat.

Most of all: FLAGS! Good Castillan and Portuguese Flags pleaaaase!

Just a suggestion for our friends :)
Cheers

What clothing would2. be dressed in? Just wondering if some of the newish Irish figures would work?

Hi Fred!

I'm not sure about the new Irish figures you mention, were they the "Irish Caliverman" (EL16)?
It would work, I think, if the figures wored hats. They could use shorts just like the "Unarmoured pikemen, standing" of the ECW range.

Have a look on those musketeers portraited by Frans Post on Dutch Brazil, for example. They could look like that. The rodeleros could also have a version on bare foot so it could complement the Slave Revolters/Pirates pack.

A Tupi or Tapuia Range would be my dream also. They could be used for DBA, Irregular Wars, Art de la Guerre...

The Rodeleros could look like this:

Cool pictures- they look like the ECW figures would be a better base, looks like changes to trousers and foot ware.

A bunch of new command figures with standard bearers could also be very nice. Ambrosio Spíndola, El Cardenal Infante, Duques de Alba and Lerma, Marquês das Minas, Conde da Torre... So many  :'(
