French-Indian War in 10mm

At what level of game are you using 10mm figures for the FIW: skirmish as individual figures, large skirmish with perhaps several figures per base, full formed battalion (at what figure ratio)?  Also, what rules are best suited for each level?

We have been using a modified form of Irregular Wars (base represents about 50, but very loosely) and it seems to work well for us. Not what you'd call historically accurate but it has the right 'flavour' and we enjoy it.
