This book published by Helion, written by Massimo Predonzani (also colour plates) and Vicenzo Alberici concentrates on Charles VIII and the battle of Fornovo. The illustrations are very good, including a Swiss pikeman and Milanese pikeman at the battle. There is also a wealth of contemporary illustrations, b/w photos and even a  battlefield sketch by the author. The translator has fallen into the trap of translating Italian idiom rather than rendering in English idiom, but the events are still relatively easy to follow. There is also information on the heraldry used in the battle with colour illustrations. For the beginning of the Italian Wars this is a useful supplement to books I already have. Due for publication shortly is Volume 2 featuring Agnadello, Ravenna and Marignano. Can't help wondering why the second volume in such a series doesn't feature instead Gonsalvo de Cordova's campaigns in Italy which predate Agnadello.
