Am doing the Salamanca OOB in 1812, question for the experts, did the British Light Dragoons have the new uniform by then, or were they still in (worn out) Tarletons?

Mark

Hi, This is another one of those 'nobody knows' questions.  For what it is worth, I have some notes, attributed to Rene Chartrand who is a well known Canadian uniformoligist probably best known for his Osprey stuff, that 19thLD were still in the old uniform when they went to Canada in 1813.  Their new uniforms were shipped later in the year.  Canada is not Spain, I know, but it indicates how long it takes for changes to take place and the dates of clothing warrant etc do not indicate when the kit was issued.  If I was doing Salamanca, I'd go for the old uniform.

Hi Leon,

Will you be doing an army pack?
I'm thinking of ordering a French one now and would order a British 1809 one.
If not I'll have to work it out myself  ;D

We would be after the range has been released, but not as part of this funding campaign I'm afraid.

Wow! This is cracking along nicely. Fortunately Napoleonics don't do anything for me, so happy to watch this one (but I think once the new Samuari get sorted it might be a different matter...)

Thanks for adding me to the Forum as I couldnt post a pledge as a guest where I have lurked for a while.  £333.30 pledged by email as noted.
And now yes please to 1 each of the flags.  definitely to the civilians as well when they are added.  A must to look after any French wounded. (by killing them!)
Having spent all of ten minutes carefully studying OOBs , multiple ruleset basing rules and planning figure need, I hope there will be a chance for small corrections (upwards) later.
And I am in total awe of SultanBev's planned army before its even cast!!

PS I haven't checked through the existing catalog yet but when your sculptor gets the time/the funding goes way over my lads will also need mules, carts, hand carts, Spanish and civilian casualties, and a Frank Sinatra look alike to ride a 20mm range gun.

Thanks for the pledge and welcome to the Forum!  With the ways things are going currently then we'll be needing some stretch goals beyond our initial £6000 plans so more casualties or carts might be a nice idea.
