Good to hear Bella is home :)

As I've already said directly it would be good to see you if you can make it, but family comes first

I head off this evening to set the game up, ready for the players on Friday morning

Indeed, Paul, very good luck with the game. Given how hard you have worked and how great everything looks, can't imagine it will not be anything but a resounding success. Remember, LOTS of pictures!

I've selected, post-processed and labeled the 16 pictures for the next Cheriton report :)
Now I just need to write the words :!!
Then do the report for the third battle :!!

I also sorted out all the chits @-) @-) @-)
All 560 were there :) :) :)
A few had wandered between bags
Four of the players kindly did a sort out after day two to make sure the odds were still fairly right ;)

I've made a start on the words for the second report :!!
Then pictures and words for the third report :!!
I also need to sort out all the troops, remove the temporary labels and reunite the pike with the various commanded shot units :!!

I believe Pierre the Shy has some Scots he will give me on Saturday that need painting
He also needs to email me the order in which he wants them painted plus information on the clothing of the Foot

Ultimately I would love to do refights of Dunbar and Worcester since Paul already has heeps of Parliamentary troops.....first up I will get him to do enough stuff to cover Montrose's 1644-45 actions as I am an avid follower of DGuy's Celtic Fringe blog and he has been very inspirational in getting the whole ECW project of the ground for me. Scots ECW actions are something that I have been wanting to fight since the early 1980's for various reasons.

Preparing painting guide and exact details for Paul  :-bd

Sorted out all the figures from Cheriton and removed the temporary labels :)

Only one base needed any repairs, I ripped the corner of the permanent label when taking off the temporary one
Replacement glued on, will varnish tomorrow

Making good progress on the third report :)

I just need to work out what happened in the centre while I was focused somewhere else based on the limited number of pictures I took :-\ :-\ :-\

I've been asked by Pierre the Shy to include some grey horses in his units of Scots Lancers

I normally don't paint greys so am open to suggestions on the colours I should use :-\

My normal approach to painting horses is to base coat in a darker colour then dry brush with a lighter colour
For example my Chestnuts are base coated with Beige Brown and highlighted Light Brown
The mane and tail is then done with an appropriate single colour and a black wash near the end of the painting brings out the details
