Muster on the Parade Ground 2016 is fast approaching. The show will be held at the Queen's Campus Sports Hall, Thornaby, Stockton on Tees, TS17 6BH this Saturday between 10.00am & 4.00pm. Admission is £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for children and senior citizens. There are 27 traders - including at least three (The Pit Gaming Shop, Mighty Lancer Games and Rapier Miniatures) who we believe have never traded at a show in the region before. - so there should be something for everyone. There will also be a bring and buy stall and a tombola stall with modelling and wargames prizes.

There are 16 public participation wargames with successful players getting a 2 part prize draw ticket. A maximum of 5 tickets per player may be entered into the prize draw. Players must take tickets to the Prize Draw Ticket Collection Point at the Tombola Stand to enter the draw - the 1st part of the ticket goes into the draw, the 2nd part is retained by the player and must be produced to receive the prize. The draw is at 3.00pm at the Tombola Stand. The prizes are -1st 2 * £25.00 vouchers, 2nd 1 * £25.00 voucher & 3rd 1 * £25.00 voucher - the vouchers are used to obtain goods from traders at the show or from them within two weeks after the show. The voucher is not exchangeable for cash in whole or part. In addition there is a fun "wargame" with edible prize. More details can be found on our website: www.teesshows.co.uk or our show Facebook page: www.facebook.com/motpg12016

We have tried to do all we can to organise the best possible show but one issue has defeated us. As the sports hall is part of Durham University and the university is not sitting there are no refreshments on site other than vending machines. We tried to obtain permission to allow a mobile catering outlet (i.e. a chip van) to trade in the car park but were not successful as the car park is part of the university site and outside catering is prohibited.  We therefore recommend you have a hearty breakfast before attending the show and there is nowhere better than the cafe in Morrisons at the Teesside Retail Park. The cafe (and store) opens at 7.00 am and serves a nice breakfast and other food. The map can be found on our show Facebook page: www.facebook.com/motpg12016

Hope everything goes ok - having driven 900 miles between Fri 8am and Sunday 5pm last weekend, I'm giving the car a rest. Even though it's one of these:

...I'm giving the car a rest. Even though it's one of these:

My mate used to have an RX-7 that was one of the quickest cars I've ever been in.  The Wankel engine was a bit different as well, his went through oil like you wouldn't believe.  I don't know if the RX-8 had that same problem.

My car is like this and it doesn't leak oil or even use fuel.

I think I'll leave it in it's box this weekend though.

Not able to attend, unfortunately, due to lack of family transportation at the moment.
Rimmer: "Aliens."

Lister: "Oh God, aliens... Your explanation for anything slightly peculiar is aliens, isn't it?

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

Lister: "Rimmer, aliens used our bog roll?"

I got a day pass from the Mrs so went up to the show. It was an interesting show but poorly attended. I spent some money on 6mm ancients with Rapier Miniatures who we dont see up north often enough plus some brushes and mdf bases. Also made a few quid on the bring n buy then left shortly after lunch.

My RX-8 is a 1.3l engine (technically). It boots out 227 brake horsepower though - and has the handbrake cunningly located for ease-of-drifting-access. :)

I like to play the game of putting someone in the passenger seat, strapping them in and asking them to lean out of the seat while I accelerate...they've got no fecking chance of getting their back off that seat ;) It *likes* revving at 7k, beeps at 8k to change up - and wants more (purring) when you're coasting at 110 8)

I am *not* going to give this up for a sensible car ;)

The one I went in was fully race-tuned to a little over 500bhp, but he'd turned it down to around 350 so that he could use it as a daily driver.  It was insane to sit in, I think the only car that's come close was a tuned Pulsar GTiR I was in years ago.  That one felt like a go-kart, the way you could fling it around corners without any body roll at all.

My mate had his RX-7 for a fair few years before selling it, in the end the rotors in the turbo went and it was a £3k repair job.
