Right, Gang.

Today I was attempting to send that nice Mr Leon a load of photo's of wee men.....Something I must have done hundreds of times in the past.

Normally.....Type Leon's email addy.
Give the mail a title.

Type some gibberish out.

Then.....
Hit attach.
Go to 'My pictures'.
Find the relevant folder.
Choose the pics ....Open those......and they appear as numbered images in the 'attachment line' in the email.

Today...When ever I did this, the pics came up within the mail itself....Asking me if I wanted to name the album.

When I eventually gave up trying to get them to go in the attachment line and hit send.....It slung the whole mail into the outbox.....So I hit send again.....Which it did....But it said 'Publishing' before (or at the same time) it sent the mail to Leon.

I know he's got the pics, but there's some poop about it being on One Drive.....and will be there until sometime in July.

Have I pressed something I didn't mean to ?

A single photo would go into the 'attachment line'.

I'm confused as to what I might have done.

Any ideas.

Hoping that makes sense.

Haven't got a scooby as to what you did but I always use WeTransfer to send stuff. Works using recipients e-mail but is a lot faster and can take more.

What email provider are you with?

gmail
hotmail
yahoo / BT
something else?

I don't know what you've done, but when I send photos via our yahoo email it attaches them with one method.
And when I send something via a gmail email it attaches them through another method.

I'm just wondering if the knowledge of what email provider you're with may help you to receive an answer from someone using the same system  :-\

Its that Windows 8 isn't it? Maybe you should have stuck with 10.

There are no stupid questions.

There are two ways of attaching pictures. One is as an attachment (i.e. link a file to the e-mail). The second is "in-line" (i.e. showing the picture within the e-mail.)

On Outlook, when inserting a file the options are "files as attachments" and "pictures inline".

Could this be the root of your problem? Inline rather than as an attachment?

Either way, Leon should be able to get the pictures.

Ahhhh.....Now that's worth investigating, Nobby....Thanks.....Thinking about it, I seem to remember going near some of those buttons at the top of the screen, a few days ago and wondering whether I'd changed something.....I'll go and have a look in a minute.

Haven't try to mail any pics for quite a few days now.....So that could well be the answer.

Not sure what may have happened but One Drive seems to want to grab everything! Probably so mSoft can sell you more cloud space.

Still having a bit of a play.

Managed to get multiple pics in the attachment line......But only by loading them in one at a time.

If I grab all the pics I want to send, it still comes within in the email itself, as an album  :-\

Have to investigate Nobby's idea a bit more thoroughly....I couldn't get anywhere with that last night. (I was cream crackered.  (:| (:| (:| (:| (:| (:|)
I'll also have a 'Google'.  ;)

Odd.  :-\

It appears that as long as I put/get/attach a single photo in the attachment line of the mail, first.......I can THEN add multiple piccies there afterwards...... without them forming an album within the email itself.

I'll just do it that way in future.  =)

Sure fire way.

Take with film camera, get film developed, post to Middlesbrough in a registered envelope.....

Even you could do that Phil. Course would take about 8 weeks due to the Welsh postal system relying on messengers with cleft sticks.
