I am considering getting into R-J war but the pickings are slim

What am assuming I can use Russian WWI line to flesh out the ruskies.

What can I use for the Japanese Cavalry, artillery, Command etc.

Thanks

Hi John,

welcome to the forum, a veritable hive of support, erudition, assistance and regular bursts of rampant insanity :)

The lack of mounted figures for the Pendraken Russo-Japanese War range was noted on here just recently but Leon's response was:

Should this one have been in the Late 19th/Colonial section?  There's no plans for extensions to the Russo-Japanese range in the foreseeable, I'd think if it ever appeared on the radar that we'd just redo the whole range as they're older sculpts now.

"No new figures in the immediate future" isn't "no suitable figures in other ranges"!

Anyone with better knowledge of the period than I able to help?

Russian guard infantry and cavalry in the !877 range? Japanese cavalry are tricky owing to the shape of the Japanese peaked cap.

Found this in another thread

I've used cavalry from the 1879-1884 South American Pacific War

Specifically SAP8: Cavalry, kepi, havelock, carbine & SAP9: Cavalry, kepi, havelock, sword

They look like the central infantry figure below alhough the kepi needs filing and the trousers need scoring to represent the gaiter / boot

I haven't got round to paiinting them yet

To be honest I've wondered whether I really need Japanese cavalry and I decided that I did because I can :)

I did that with August 1914 in Belgium.
