Musket Con

[Wealdmaster]

The long running wargame convention known as the Seven Years War Convention is going to feature many updates and changes for 20207. First, we've expanded the timeline for games back to 1600 and up to 1815 as we're all looking to meet new friends and showcase those pike and shot armies or Napoleonic figures we've been collecting for years but didn't bring as they weren't donning a tricorn hat! Also, the venue is returning to the Wingate by Wyndham north of the Toll Road in South Bend, Indiana. The dates are a bit earlier as well to stay away from Adepticon; March 18 - 20. Perhaps the most stunning change is our new name - Musket Con! We feel is is broad enough and may catch the attention of someone with only a passing interest in wargaming or the horse and musket period. Our featured speaker for the Saturday evening banquet will be Jack Gill of Napoleonic fame who will speak on the Confederation of the Rhine.

Call the hotel 1 574 318 9870 to book your room and tell them you're with the Seven Years War Association to get the discounted rate.

I've see this post a couple of times today - and as you have interacted on the Pendraken forum, I'm going to offer some feedback, that perhaps isn't just talking to myself.

I'm glad this con has been going for many years. But your post assumes the global viewing audience is aware of that - and frankly that the Con is held in the USA.

Not specifying the country of events posted on internet forums seems to be a strangely common omission by those advertising them. I guess because its blindingly obvious to the person posting which country it is held in, and the format of the address gives that answer - but only to those who live in, or are very familiar with that country.

And I've no idea who Jack Gill is - a quick search suggests several people in the film industry...

Also who phones a hotel to make a booking?

I thought the name seemed familiar, I suspect that it's going to be the author of 1809 Thunder on the Danube (which I do have on my shelf) and With Eagles to Glory (which I don't).
