Looking for clarification please........

In the Abilities section of the the British, Bundeswehr, Soviet VDV and Soviet army lists, it states for Elite 'No command penalty for assault AND +1 in Close Combat'

However in the Special Abilities section on p92, Elite does not show the '+1 in Close Assault' it only states no command penalty and -1D6 for suppression or fallback. Similarly, the Assault Resolution table on p45 omits this +1.

All units get +1 for assaulting but do Elite get an extra +1 because they are Elite?

So, either the '+1 in close combat' in the army lists is an error, or it has been omitted from the Close Assault Resolution table (p45) and from the Special Abilities section (p92).

The wording in the Special Abilities section of the rules P92 is the correct one to use.
Elite units have no command penalty (-1) for being ordered into assaulting the enemy (P23).

Elite units also effectively ignore 1 suppression / fall-back dice.
So if they only receive a single hit, they dont have to dice for suppression/fallback at all. If they receive 2 hits, they only throw a single dice for suppression/fall-back. Etc.

Elite do not get an extra +1 (in addition to the standard +1) for assaulting.
