Title: Dungeon and Booster Pack!
Post by: Leon on 12 July 2010, 02:30:39 AM
The full Dungeon Pack is now available and is on the website here: http://www.pendraken.co.uk/DNP1-p5196/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/DNP1-p5196/), priced at a bargain xxx!  Remember you're getting 5 various rooms, and the corridors to go with them;  17 pieces of furniture; 30 monsters; 5 Heroes, and a FREE set of rules!  All you need to do is get them painted up, and away you go! This item will not be affected by the impending price rise either!

Also included is a small set of instructions on constructing your own Dungeon, with fully labelled pieces:

hehe, actually  I imagine it was on pure quality and genius alone. The 3D resin dungeon, the dungeon furnishings, and the amazingly complete set of monsters to go with it are not only incredibly well sculpted, but sublime to look at when painted up and placed in the actual 3D setting.... the whole visual feel is (to my mind) to date the most attractive looking bit of RP kit I`ve ever seen - and in 10mm too, incredible   :o

Quoted for truth!  The Dungeon bits are such a fantastic item, it's nice to be able to finally package them up properly and see where we can take them.  Although if it gets too popular, we might need some more bits making!

I have one teeny tiny niggle.  I got the original dungeon pack a month back and was surprised how the bases of the dungeon pieces looked, either a convex or concave curve on the resin, ive sanded it down.  I was just wondering if they would be anyway to get these sanded at source on a belt sander or something.

These are my first resin pieces so i dont know if its just a thing of the matieral and i need to get used to it.

Thanks
Brian.

There were some moulds that were getting towards the end of their life, which we've now replaced, so hopefully that will fix most of those issues.  We are looking at getting a lathe though, to put a nicer finish on all the Resin products.

For me personally, any blemishes, any bubbling etc... I count it as a bonus when it comes to painting the resin pieces. Bubbles make great mushroom spores and fungus, and blemishes painted ugly greens and purples make great cave mold and slime, and looks like the modeller has gone to a lot of effort to create extra detail to the work... my cup was half full (as opposed to half empty) when I received a few of these latter mould tiles.

hehe.

Great work, guys! Leon, it's obvious you've put a lot of work getting this together-and it shows. I've already got my dungeon set-up (9 rooms and counting...) or I would definetly buy this starter pack. I hope it sells well!

Now I'll just start praying for cavern pieces!

.... a big (2 piece) chamber with a sunken well in the middle of the floor....  heck, even more simple; a free standing circular well you can place yourself like you do with furniture - bit like the well The Fellowship encounter in Moria.

The Booster Pack contains:

Rooms/Corridors
3 x Small rooms
1 x Large room
1 x Corner
1 x T-Junction
1 x Small into large extension
1 x Small room extension
2 x sets of stairs

Furniture
1 x Wizards table
1 x Bookcase
1 x Weapons rack
1 x Torture rack
2 x Doors

Monsters

Ordered my booster pack today.

I have cleverly delayed painting my original dungeon pieces so that these extra bits will have exactly the colour scheme when finished. Does that sound convincing? No, I didn't think so. OK, so I'm just slow at painting and haven't got beyond the undercoat yet!

Looking forward to receiving the booster bits.

Cheers,
Andy

Oh ! Yes I did receive it Six, thanks a lot !
Sorry for not answering, lots of things accumulated and I completely forgot to answer... Thanks again.

On a side note, I played my first game of DW this very week-end with 4 friends on a home made scenario.
I was the draken master, we took pictures, traced the unfolding of the game and took notes about the overall feedback we had on the rules and the DW pack itself.
Now I "just" have to write it down and publish it. I'll keep you guys updated.  ;)

what paint do people use to paint the dungeons, do you use the little pots of paint as in games workshop stuff or is there anything else in big pots that you use?
Title: Re: Dungeon Booster Pack now available!
Post by: capthugeca on 12 November 2010, 10:23:48 PM
I use Plasti-cote black acrylic spray for the primer.
Then I've a huge pot of Focus (the DIY company) matt Smooth Chocolate which I use for all basic ground work.
Then everything else is Anita's Acrylics.

Have a look in this thread for some colour suggestions...

I used my Vallejo paints over a spray black undercoat - because of the multiple-random-ish-layer method I used I didn't really use that much paint  :)

I use Coat d'Arms (former paint provider of games workshop: cheaper and better) and some Vallejo.
For Vallejo, if you paint fantasy stuff, take care of buying the bottles with "grey caps", the "white caps" are better aimed at painting military stuff.

:)  Well my Duneon Pack arrived and i have ta say i am so over the Moon with everything. Even the additional Miniatures i ordered are Amazing. The Amazon Herione is stunning Wow wee. I got started on the Dungeon itself already ,  opting for a Classic Slate Grey , with Mold here and there, and painted Five Skeleys, they feel everybit as good and Impressive as anything out there at the minute. I also ordered a Skeleton Captain to take the role of " Wormwood" and his Shoulder plates and stance is exactly right for an Age ridden Bone Shambles. He's gonna look so cool . And Creek around my Dungeon quite a bit.I was also amazed at how easy the Minis where to paint up , I know Skeleys are easy to do anyway , but you can add so much detail to em, there Hott. Cant wait to get stuck in with this and Hopefully get a Few Pics up and Updates on Dungeon Life.  Thanx for Readin Folkz........Soooo Pleased !!!
