Techno has been beavering away this year on quite a large Fantasy expansion for us. This will contain two new races (Ratmen and Amazons) as well as a lot of new monsters and some revamped versions of our older ranges. Some of these monsters are much larger sculpts (20-25mm tall) and will be of use to people in a lot of different Fantasy games.
We're hoping to have the first wave of these ready before the end of this year and here's a random assortment to whet your appetites:
Long-awaited, oft-requested armoured Bears:

Not much there that can be conscripted into my armies, alas. ;D
Have I been eating cheese?
Those plague elementals are gorgeous ... I'm guessing they are a Techno creation.
That man's mind would be a psychiatrist's playground.

OI !......The middle one and the chap on the right were inspired by some artwork I was 'pointed at'.
The one on the left, however. :-[
HAH !.....I shouldn't have used Magic Sculp to do the Trogs' hair...It's too pale for a white background. ;D ;D
Cheers - Phil ;)
Some great stuff there 8). I love the armoured bears and Night Orcs!
Looking excellent
Finally the bears :-bd :-bd :-bd
Some cool stuff there.
Nice!! I like the Night Orcs, can see them being added to my Warmaster armies, looking forward to seeing more!! :)

Less than we need T'ang.
Just painting up a Kislev army using Pendraken so this is excellent timing !
I wonder if there will be any bear riders (there are saddles...) ?
No matter, this is great news. Phil
I'm fairly certain there will be riders, Phil. ;)
Just don't ask which species.......yet......It's secret. :D
Don't ask me......As Manuel would say......I know nahtheeng.

Plague Elementals - just the thing for 2020.

I believe so...?! I'm hoping Phil knows as I've completely forgotten who/what was going to be riding them! I'll have to check my notes.
I think I went out with the middle troglodyte when I was dating in 'Boro in the 80's ;D

The man that can't remember the figures he finished the week before.
(I've got a good idea though !) ;)
Cheers - Phil
Nice sculpts, I'd seen some of them on the Instagram account for Pendraken earlier.
They are all very nice, especially the plague elementals
Really nice work Phil!
I suppose all of these will work nicely with 15mm!
Some/lots of them should work fine, Atte. :)
Talking of new stuff....Sir's just sent me down a couple of 'secrets' that I've got to do a few bits and bobs for.
They ARE stonking !......Even Von was impressed with those !....and she doesn't have the slightest interest in toy soldier 'stuff' .....apart from the fact that it helps pay for her gee-gees. ;)
Cheers - Phil

"Bits and bobs" is a term photographers use for lingerie, bikinis and the like.
Techno used to be a photographer.
Just saying.

I think the idea guys - a bit like the spider riders - was to allow a variety of different riders to be used.
Nordic/Skandi Dwarves are very often associated with armoured bears - but likewise Muscovite-Russian/Cossack types would be good although got to make sure we don't offend GW in so doing.

Eh? Don't think GW have an IP claim on either of these, and certainly not the historical stuff!
Sure Phillip Pullman would have something to say too.

Ummm ... are the Amazons in this "large expansion"?
I'd guess so, Nobby ! :-\
Sir would be the chap to answer that for absolute certainty.

Any chance of "adventuring party" instead of having to buy 10 wizards etc?
These used to be available. http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,2732.0.html
They are no longer there, and I suppose Leon will be the one to have information on any future plans.
Seem to remember that you could do mix and match with the packs at a small extra cost ?

Think this has been suggested a few times over the years, and is promptly pooh-poohed - although not by Leon, I think - as unlikely to be economically unviable.

Huh! Okay, not aware of these.
I think the problem is you'd need at least a couple of different packs.
What are you playing? Classic DnD? 1 wizard, 1 cleric, 1 thief, 3 fighters. But then, are your fighters in full plate? Chanimail? Studded leather? Does your wizard's staff have a knob on the end?
Or optimised for a more modern game, like Frostgrave or Sellswords & Spellslingers. Each of these would have different requirements.
Everyone would want different things, and I can see why we don't have a Adventurer's Pack.

Does your wizard's staff have a knob on the end?
Is that an important distinction? :-\

I don't think we've got 10-packs of wizards anywhere? There's the magic users for each Warband race which are packs of 4 different figures and a stone/talisman type thingy.

We'd like to bring the adverturer pack back, but it'll be once I get the Dungeon rules sorted out and we can repackage that whole section of the site.

Perhaps the size of your Knob matters in wizarding circles?
The Wizards Staff - has a knob on the end
Words: Nanny Ogg (as translated by: Alixandra Jordan )
Music: A Frog went a Courtin'
O, the wizard's staff had a knob on the end.
It does! It does!
O, the wizard's staff has a knob on the end.
It does!
O, the wizard's staff has a knob on the end
And the wizard's staff is the wizard's friend.
It is! It is!

Bears and spiders riding together - since the bear is usually shown as the polar variety, dusted with snow, does this make the spider an icy deadly black tarantula, as the song says?
