That's the loveliest thing I've seen on this forum since the last time there were Centurions on the forum.  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Very nice indeed !!

What is your source for the 106mm RR? - the bore is indeed 105mm, but designated the 106 to avoid confusion with M27.

M27 and M40 saw some service in Korea, M27 was generally disliked as it was a ball ache due to weight, quoted bore rather than the latter 106 designation for the real nasties like the Ontos (Greek for Beast for trivia quizzes that never ask the question but a great name all the same - does make it sound a tad unpleasant!).

Sources are a bunch of internet searches and from stuff on Suez the 106mm was based on incompatibility with older 105mm ammo. Oddly enough not a lot of paper info from my library from 40 some years of collecting, will do more digging.

Regardless - wouldn't like to be on the receiving end either way! Also - lovely model and really easy to assemble from the mounting pin on the tripod. Crews are great too.

Sorry, my query was "where did you get the RR models? Who makes them?  Off an Ontos ?

Ah, didn't get the context - I pestered Leon to get some stuff early and all the RR models are Pendraken.  :D

It's great when work takes you to a site office about 100m from Pendraken HQ at least 3 weeks a month. :D It does take a bit more driving to get there are the steelworks security guys  are cranky about jumping the perimiter fence though.   8)
