Hi everybody,
Here my latest 10mm army for BBB. Serbian Army during 1877-1878.
Thanks to Ktravlos, I have been persuaded to build a second 19c army to oppose my Ottomans.
I used mainly Babac's book for background and colors search but internet was also useful.
Here is the break down of my minis and paints.
I used WW1 Serbian Infantry in cap (S1) , WW1 Serbian Cavalry Rifle (S2) and WW1 75mm field gun with crew in cap (S3).
But WW1 gun was too modern for the period so I used 1878 era French guns instead (thanks Ktravlos again)
Commander/General was from ACW range Mounted Staff Officers (ACW36) (the one wearing kepi)
Colors:
Tunic: Brown. Any brown will do, I suppose. I used a domestic brand spray and highlighted with Citadel Bestial Brown
Cap and pants: Bluish Gray. I used Italeri 4778AP (Helblau RLM 65)
Boots: Italeri 4780AP (Schwarzgrun RLM70) (some models have opanchi instead of boots which I painted white then washed in brown)
Wood and leathers: Several shades of brown, buffs.
Rifle body: Revell Tar Black (to make a contrast again so many browns)
Tan, metals: whatever handy at that moment
Artillery: Light Gray
I started by spray all brown
Then I painted face Citadel Dwarf Flesh
I can post max 126KB photos. So here are the two smallest ones.
All army in parade. Units are made for BBB Aleksinac scenario.
Close up of General.
Oh wow - those are gorgeous! That light blue really contrasts beautifully with the rich brown tunics. Fantastic work! I hope they'll see action soon!

Here is another close-up under 128KB
Good Show! They will see much action!
Guys, I am going slow to upload but It is hard to manage photos to fit in 128KB size.
My thanks to Leon. He was a great help to arrange my artillery to be period-correct.
This photo shows mainly my 1st Ban (first grade, or professional soldiers unit). They have I sign at the backs of bases and each unit has flag.
I used advancing figures for those units.
2nd Ban units donot have flags, have same uniform but some have opanchis instead of boots. I used bayonet facing figures for 2nd Ban.
Close up:
Artillery, Single Cavalry figure for Limbered Artillery mark and BB gun pellets for Low on Ammo marks (OK not all artillery were shooting cannonballs but I will used them for other armies too)
Some trivia. I bought the army in April. I started painted in July and finished yesterday.
Flags are hand-painted. The material for flags is wine bottle foil (the one around cork). But it doesnt wavy as aliminum foil but surely much more stronger.
Frankly it was a speed-paint style not my best shot. But in that scale, I cut some corners and results were almost same.
Thanks for the kind words. Now I am waiting my time off to battle against Ktravlos's Ottomans. This time Aleksinac will be in Serbian hands!!!
Cool looking army - didn't even know Pendraken did Serbian figures!
Its cool that you can often use early WWI figures for quite a bit earlier.
With the photos if you upload them to a photo sharing website, then link to the forum you don't have to worry about the 128kb limit.
Thanks. Here my photobucket links for all photos.

Very nice indeed
Take care

Very nice work indeed!

Enjoyed the pics. Nice work on the figures. Like your use of the BB's to make 'out of ammo' markers, not to mention giving me another reason to drink wine (foil for flags) :)
Very nice, indeed ! 8)

Very interesting to see how a figure can have multiple uses from a paint job.
They're cracking!" Very nice - hope they do as well on table as they look :)
Very nice!
Tasty looking chaps and no mistake.

At 6mm either Irregular or Bacchus ww1 Serbs would work fine.
I had forgotten just how gorgeous Onur's Serbian army is. Thanks for resurrecting it, Dave!
Having literally 15 minutes ago finished writing my synopsis of the southern (Serbian) front in the Hungarian War of Independence, I am wondering whether I will need to get myself an 1848 Serb army. I suspect my 1912 Serbs may find themselves standing in for their grandpas.
And I am regretting not investing 40 quid in a rather nice Serbian book about the 1848 conflict when I was in Belgrade a couple of years ago. Not that I can even read the Cyrillic alphabet, never mind understand Serbian.
Chris
I'm doing 6mm Serbs based on these uniforms from 1876. They will go up and down the century and may even become 19th Century forces. I'll load some images onto BBB soon(ish), must finish my Crimean Russians first though. And the FPW. And the Napoleonics. And add some 10mm limbers to the SYW. And sell my 15mm 19th Century. And ... well there is quite a lot to do.

And very nice too!
Lovely work Dave.
