Title: Bases
Post by: GordonY on 10 March 2015, 05:24:52 PM
When is Leon gonna program bases for this into his Lasercutter software.

Reason I'm asking is cos I'm gonna be needing some 100 x 100 bases come the end of the month not many thankfully, they're for villages in DBN. Working towards Waterloo one base at a time.  ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Egzt4QAtGM8

Waiting 21 minutes and 39 seconds for a reply; what's happening to PD customer service these days? :(

Great now all I need is a load of tiny building to put on them, anyone got any suggestions for that? I'm thinking paper here.

It takes a bit of time to add the new product to the website...  :P

Very nice but I really need the sizes, to quote the rules : A BUA should
be depicted as a group of buildings on a 100mm square base with an internal
open space large enough to 'accommodate' the Garrison Unit of Infantry. (a 40 x 20 with all the bayonet projections and space for stubby fingers to lift them out, its probably nearer 40 x 40)
So in short the buildings need to be a maximum of 30mm deep, I somehow think thats gonna be nearer 6mm stuff than 10mm, I know 15mm is just too goddamn big to use.

An option I used for my AWI was to have an appropriate lift out section with buildings on

The smaller TBM buildings are 40mm x 40mm.

Based on what you cited above, you're right - probably not small enough.

For my Maurice Horse and Musket games I picked up some 6mm paper houses (may have been from Tiny Tin Troops?). These are tall enough to work with 10mm figures (i.e. they are taller than the troops, not that they fit with the height of the troops). As 6mm buildings they have a very small foot print.

I think the buildings will be on an about 60mm footprint base.

Works really well, I like card buildings, they look decent and they don't burst the bank either! :)
