Howdy folks,
Does anybody have any pictures of the French WW-1 range F13 'Tirailleurs Senegalese Infantry'? I'm considering to do a company as soon as I'm done with my other WW-1 French but I wondered what they look like? Are they in greatcoats or Paletot jackets and do they wear the Chechia or helmet? What poses are they in and how are they armed for example; stuff like that...
Thanks!
Rob
I think I have some of these. From memory short jackets and soft hats. But I may be thinking of some different figures!!
Sounds like a good representation... if you happen to find them please let me know!
Cheers,
Rob
Sorry for the delay, but I have remembered to dig these figs out and take a photo

Excellent Fred, these look pretty usefull in combination with some regular infantry!
Thanks!
Rob
Glad to help.
I'm not certain what I got these chaps for - I think as part of my WWII French force?
But would they work for part of a French force for 1914, (in France)?
Yes they would work for 1914 as well; the only thing that really chenged throughout the war was the colour of the uniform; the short Paletot jacket en Chechia were worn till the end of the war although greatcoats and helmets were also issued to them as well as to the rest of the army.
I'm still looking for info on their organisation though; up till now I believe they were organized exactly like the Metropolitan infantry companies but I'm not sure yet...
Cheers,
Rob
I painted up a unit of those as Tirailleurs Sénégalais, on Major Marchands expedition to Fashoda.
