All,
Here's the other game I got in today. I couldn't spend a bunch of time, but I had some to spare, so I simply flipped the board around a bit, reset the forces, and went at it again. This is my third playtest of Matt's rules, "Some Corner of a Foreign Field."

The Brit squad is scattered across the top. They're clearly expecting trouble as they've already assumed skirmish line, and they're moving right into the teeth of the German defenses, which is an MG-42 set up in the building at bottom center, with two pickets thrown out on the south side of the road on both the left and right sides.

The game begins I'd imagine so many real fights started in WWII: a Brit, Soviet, or US patrol is moving forward when an MG-42 opens up. No one is hit, but the Bren Group Corporal, the Bren gunner, and the 2" mortar all receive some combat stress.

The Brit Rifle Group used the orchard to get close to the enemy on the right.

The backline, things aren't going well. A rifleman fails his morale test and drops prone (green bead). But then the Squad Leader runs for the hills. Oh yeah, this is after the Bren Group Corporal and the 2" mortar man already ran for the hills... Did I mention things aren't going well.

The Brits are pretty steadily getting their butts kicked on the German right, and a ferocious fight breaks out in the orchard.
But in the end the only Brits that escape are the ones that were smart enough to run away at the beginning...

Great stuff, Jack !
Cheers - Phil.
Thanks Jack! Keep them coming dude.
Thanks fellas, I appreciate it!
I will get some more games in, though I spent all day working on some forces for Vietnam, so future batreps for these skirmish rules will be set there I think. Though probably tomorrow I'm going to get another 6mm Soviet-Afghan game in.
Speaking of Vietnam, it sure would be nice to have some guys with M-14s for Vietnam.. I wonder if anyone has brought this up. Ahem, Mr. Techno ;) ;D
V/R,
Jack
Good AAR jack, thank you.
