Title: Wargaming in schools
Post by: Steve J on 27 April 2014, 12:55:42 PM
IIRC one of our August memebers runs some wargames in a school during holidays etc. So I thought this Blog post might be of interest to anyone contemplating something similar:

Great initiative. I ran a club for 32 years until relentless government initiatives meant it was no longer possible. Retired now and I notice the latest government initiative is to keep school"s open until 6 o'clock to enable clubs to run. Don't these idiots realise that the vast majority of schools had clubs aplenty until they started sticking their noses in and ruined the whole set up.

A wonderful idea and it deserves to succeed.

A great idea, I hope enough schools are interested to make it worth while

I saw the piece in Miniature Wargames from Rich Clarke about this - its a really good idea. I think I will contribute, as it was really the library at secondary school that got me into wargames rather than just playing with toy soldiers.
