hello Chaps
As i won a voucher coupon in the 2013 Painting Comp (thx again Team Pendraken!) i took the plunge and ordered a Bunch of WW2 Tanks.Well, the Plan is to slowly build up a decent Collection of the imho most iconic Vehicles of this Conflict, starting with the Tiger I of course :D Need some Decals but overall i'm quite pleased with the outcome, not bad for my first 10mm Panzer i say ;D
Panzer marsch!

Cool!
My money's on the tigger at the moment (until it runs out of fuel anyway)!
Really nice work - and a really clever idea of collecting the iconic tanks. You will soon find that 'iconic' covers a lot, as you will want early war ones, desert ones, snow ones, etc - don't fight it, that's just the way it is with WWII!!
With the Sherman - the big starts with circles around were nearly always used as air recognition ones - so would be on the top of the turret. You will find this is quite tricky due to all the hatches - Micro Sol solution can help here, as it softens the decal and allows it to follow the 3d shape of the surface. The US did keep stars on the sides of its tanks for a while, but the British got rid of them very early on.
The tools on the Sherman would look great painted like you did on the Tiger (I suspect that as with all US kit olive drab is the official colour, but a bit of artistic licence will make them pop!)
Lovely work again, Doc !
Cheers - Phil
thanks again Chaps for your comments :)

Excellent work Dr, the basing really shows them off,
kev
Isn't that Sherman stepping a bit out of class?
Skill of the tanker and proper attention to logistics overcomes nominally superior kit ;)
You sound as if you've been watching Alexander Nevski.
Add some air identification. ;)
I find the Tiger is better than the others...maybe the lighter and brighter colour.

Haha, no, but it is a brilliant film :)
Agreed. One of my favourites. To think he pulled off a battle scene like that without a zoom lens! Hats off, gentlemen.
Brilliant cinematographer :)
Oddly, it was a budding interest in Cold War Gone Hot gaming got me to watch his films; they're mentioned in the run up to war in Red Storm Rising :D
Now back to you regular WW2 iconic tanks :)
vrooom vroooom-Panzer marsch!!!

For Gaming/Storage Reasons i moved to smaller Bases,i'll leave them as they are simply Brown painted, makes them look more like Display/Collector Pieces methinks :-\
just got the shipping Notification for my next Wave,i might be able to show some Soviet Iconics next 8)i found out its easier to paint a Bunch of Panzers from the same faction rather than 3 different Nations at once :-\
Very nice dude! 8)
That's a shame you've not got the room for the scenic bases as your basing looked fantastic and really set the models' brilliant paint jobs off!
cheers Gents :)
got a few Soviets done 8)
