received a package from Pendraken this morning that contained some free samples Leon sent me only to discover when I looked at the package it had been opened and re-taped ?, maybe Leon forgot something, definitely not, I opened the package only to discover the remnants of a bag with just a Pendraken label on it an no figures ? >:( >:( the bag had been ripped >:(
My opinion is this is someone who works for the Royal Mail and knows exactly who Pendraken are and what they supply. I am really really angry about this as this costs Leon and Dave money more so because they were sent free of charge, this seems to be a very common occurrence
I honestly think that pendraken should report it to the police, it would maybe put a halt to this kind of thing, as I am well aware many other wargaming companies suffer the same thing to, and what makes it worse is many are very small operations who can ill afford this sort of thing.
In the past 15 months I have had figures go missing, a book, painted figures being returned to me by a painter, which I might add were sent back to me "signed for" the package had been opened badly and about a quarter of the contents were missing.
A very very >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( old smokie
If anybody wants to see the pictures of the packaging I can post them on the forum
rant over
That is pretty disgusting
I presume you have contacted them?
Any description for us of the contents?
I checjk ebay almost dayle for 10 mm styff, so might notice it if it gets offered.
yes I have emailed Dave and Leon, the contents were some Malburian sample figures MAL9 "Grenadier, march attack, short mitre - Prussian, N.German States, Danes, Dutch"
I have a friend in the Royal Mail in Belfast sorting office, I know this wont help you directly but he might know some of the proceedures involved
thanks Fenton that would be a help

Yes.....Definitely complain to the Royal Mail as well, Smokie......If you haven't done that already.
If the package
hasn't been through a sorting machine, it
sounds as though it's been opened quite deliberately.
This isn't the RM being 'cute' and trying to find extra pots of paint, is it ?
Cheers - Phil
just got a reply from Leon hope he does not mind me posting this
there were only TWO figures in the package, unbelievable all that effort for just two figures >:(
Leon offered to send out replacements but I would rather wait for a picture after Salute is over, makes me feel a little guilty as this costs Pendraken money :'(
I've had much the same experience lately. For a decade at this address I have had no damaged/opened mail and suddenly within the past couple of months I've had three items tampered with, none from Pendraken but all wargaming stuff (Hovel models and rules sets). Nothing was taken but perhaps that was because they weren't interested in what they found. It is a worrying trend.
It is indeed a worrying trend, I wonder if it's because the packets are small and relatively heavy so might have something valuable ?
But surely now its privatised, the quality of service has improved?
Having worked for Royal Mail if the letters where officially opened they should have marked the package as such?? report it
Royal mail used to check all employees backgrounds out but have done away with a lot of things this included.

;D ;D ;D
I had a similar experience a few years ago when I still lived in the UK. An American friend of mine who made jewelery sent me some earrings I bought off her as a gift for a lady friend. The package arrived ripped open and empty. >:(
The customs label read "jewelery" as the contents. What do you do? Deliberately not write the contents and risk complications with Customs or declare it and risk tipping off the rare thieving git in the sorting offices? :(
Report it to the Police as well as stolen items. You never know...
Theivary - that's the offshoot clan from MacGregor, right?
Definitely report it - to the Royal Mail and the police. How can it it be stopped if the authorities don't officially know about it? At the very least it might deter the culprit(s), knowing that someone's prepared to do something about it.

2 models or 200, theft is theft
I concur, get the police involved. The "idea" there might be someone at Royal Mail involved suggests itself.
Strangely only rare items such as Ravenstar miniatures always seem to be "interesting" for these. Having said that I also believe most posties are honest lads (and gals) but the few rotten eggs really spoil it.
Concerning privatisation: Good try at a joke mate. Giving the job to the lowest bidder (also a trend when hiring employees apparently) comes at a price.
many thanks to Leon, I received the replacement figures yesterday =D> no missing figures this time :o, obviously the person that took the original figures must have completed their unit >:(
