A new unit for the Seleucid army: the dreaded cataphract cavalry of Antiochus

These are great figures and the number of possible combinations with two horses and three riders is awesome. But, if I have to find some problem with these miniatures it would be the size... As with dromedaries, the cataphracts are larger than other Pendraken references. Here you can see a photo comparison with the roman cavalry.

Excellent work, Hetairoi. Not a crowd you'd want to meet on a dark night. :D

Or even on a nice sunny day when you were intending to spend it relaxing at the beach
Super stuff 'H' !

So that's who knocked the decent horses!
Brillant!
Gorgeous stuff, as always. So jealous!
Thanks for your comments, glad you like them!
Next units for the seleucid army will be some kappadokian skirmishers...
Thought Cataphacts were a type of waterfall.....

Don't be silly, Cataphracts are an ailment that afflicts the eyes, especially of those who are older :)
Cats spend 30% of their waking hours grooming themselves
Thats a Cata phact
As Sylvester the cat used to say - "Suffering cataphracts!"
Perhaps he was unlucky with his extra heavy cavalry?

Steve.....My shoulder is
really starting to ache, holding your coat out at arms' length.....
What do you keep in the pockets to make it so damn heavy ? ;)
(Answers on a postcard please.)
Cheers - Phil ;)

I dont know what you mean!
Really excellent Hetairoi, and great basing. I dont trim the figure bases, i just put the basing material (pummice) up to the edge then cover with paint and a bit of field grass around the fig base to hide it. Sorry for the late reply, my internet service along with my aging laptop have been on a go slow recently.
kev
Top notch stuff!
Now those are very tasty. Great painting.

Better late than never ;)
So, you glue the figs to the base before adding the pummice... :-\
I have to try that on my next army!
Thanks!
