Is there a cure, or do I just have to....to....to....take a...a...break from painting? :'(
My thumb often locks up, satisfying crack when it frees up!
Never had a thumb lock up - but my neck required eighteen month of osteopathy back in the eighties when the pain became too much.
Well I shattered my right thumb twice first from playing cricket then exactly one year later from an axe going through it at a re reenactment , it doesn't bend at all now

The worst bit was having to spend a night in a Drogheda hospital in a ward of people of 60+ year olds , being pumped full of tetanus for 24 hours with nothing to watch on the telly but the Rose of Tralee festival AND all the nurses were nuns!
Pumped by nuns: you can pay A LOT of money for that! :D
Forgive me, sister, for I am about to sin....
Now got arthritis in my left thumb. Still painting though.
