But I quite liked this tale that Mrs T found this morning.
An English Professor in America was lecturing his class on 'double negatives'......The story went something like this.....
"In virtually every language spoken in the World, a double negative makes for a positive. Russian is one of the few, or only, languages where a double negative is STILL a negative.
Nowhere in the World does a 'double positive' become a negative."
A voice was heard at the back of the hall......"Yeah......Right." :D
Cheers - Phil
That'll be real then ... aye .... right! :P
True...not true...don't care: really nice analysis of language ;)
Intonation. "Yeah .... Right", but what about a perky "yeah, right, ..."
Very good point fsn !
Cheers - Phil
Thanks Techno ... hang on ... do you mean 'good' or 'good'
I've confused myself and will have to lie down with my relaxation object.

At least you know the difference between
lie and
lay, unlike too many of our new world friends!
