Can anyone tell me if any of the US WW1 range have the soft pointy-ish with dimples "Marine"/"Boys Brigade" hats on? Or alternatively if any of Pendrakens other ranges do that are carrying rifles and wouldn't look out of place in an AVBCW setting, please?
The Pendraken photostream and forum archives have proven unhelpful except for ruling out the cavalry as they're in battle bowlers!

Deep, the websites info says they're all in helmets. I'd swear it didn't say that yesterday! so, slightly different question - anyone know any figures in the Montana style hat at all?!
Toxic: Try the plain's war line, I'm a yank in 10mm the plain's line would be close I don't know if Pendraken does Spainish/American war but they would be close too.Are you looking for Inf. or Cav. Hope this help's ? Mike
Yeah, Rough Riders dismounted would have been great! I've gone for some bits & bobs to knock up slightly different approach to the problem - they're for the Boys Brigade, who also seem to have worn side caps, pill box hats and once pressed into service I'm guessing battle bowlers in an interwar period context!
So 8th Army In shorts, some figures to try and mod into Montana's and civvies/LDV with side caps all for "paint conversions" :)
Hello TP
For Boys Brigade in sidecaps you could look at SCW - Regular Army in winter dress - sidecaps, short cazadore jacket (could be painted white as shirt), blanket roll, trousers with puttees:-

The only figures with pillbox I know of are the Crimean British and they're probably too anachronistic.
There's also the Boers but it might be stretching credibility for the Boys Brigade to have full beards :D

Or they could be infiltrators from the Girls Brigade into the Boys Brigade dymanteros:-

I did have a look at the Crimea range but thought they were too out of period, sadly. Did have a butchers thru the SCW but missed those regulars - if my commision expands later I might suggest those chaps. If the Crimean war guys are out then sadly the south judean people's popular stoning squad are even less likely :D

Seriousy, you could also look at some of the fez type figures from WW1 East Africa or SCW (as stand-ins for pillbox hat types), the Moroccan Falange Militia (puttees, shirt sleeves, fez) might be handy. Might be just a case of a quick file off the top of the fez.

Splitters!
I'll have a bash, Ta Grumpy et Al :) The SCW range is a cornucopia I've barely scratched for AVBCW :) I'm hopin I can get the rest of the club into AVBCW, even their limited pockets migh stretch to me painting up a couple more forces which would be nice!
I think some of the Canadian Militia in the C19th range have pillbox caps.
