Hi all, i noticed theres a sale on for these and wondered if anyone had played any of there games and could give an idea of there suitability for 10mm gaming.
Cheers.
Hi zero,
Yes Ed Teixeira`s rules are very usable for playing skirmishes in 10mm... but remember, most of the rules are full skirmish so you`d only ever really be fielding a handful of miniatures at a time on the table top. I worked quite closely with Ed when making my own Zombie rules, and he`s a nice guy who makes very nice easy to use rules with many optional extras you can either use or ignore in your games.
Check out his free FDF`s to get a feel for the rules and see if you like them. All the systems use (basically) the same rules engine; so read and learn one game, and you`ll get the rest easily.
Six :-)
Yep - agreed; I've played most of Ed's rules over the years: they're great & a good break from the standard approach of UGO-IGO - essentially using a system of reaction tests to determine what happens next: once you've got the core mechanic sussed, they're very intuitive & give a fast, chaotic, cinematic game...as Six says, grab a freebie first: Chain Reaction 3.0 would be a good start...
Ed's Yahoo group is great too for support & conversion files.
No fantasy minis though :( aside from my 10mm ones.
Does it work in 10mm?
Yep - you can use whatever minis you like - you might want to adjust distances: sub cms for inches is probably easiest.
