Title: I want to catch a bus
Post by: fsn on 02 March 2014, 07:05:51 PM
Anyone know a source of cheap post war commercial vehicles and buses? Kits perhaps?

All the railway model ones seem very expensive.

Hello fsn

Have you looked at Oxford 1/148 diecast? http://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/navigationOX/148/148IndexALL.html (http://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/navigationOX/148/148IndexALL.html)

The page even let's you search by decade.

Alternatively you could look on eBay, 9amfree has 6 buses for £4.61. I've dealt with them before and had no problems.

Anything by Tomytec or other Japanese producers listed as N Scale are 1/150 instead of the US 1/160 N Scale.

Cheers

PS Another option is card models Buses - http://hamapaper2.zouri.jp/thumblink2/Thumb302.html (http://hamapaper2.zouri.jp/thumblink2/Thumb302.html) Trucks/commercial http://hamapaper2.zouri.jp/thumblink2/Thumb303.html (http://hamapaper2.zouri.jp/thumblink2/Thumb303.html) with wheels from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/willmodels/Vehicle-Accessories-/_i.html?rt=nc&_fsub=2764083013&_sid=9945223&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14&_sop=15&_sc=1 (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/willmodels/Vehicle-Accessories-/_i.html?rt=nc&_fsub=2764083013&_sid=9945223&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14&_sop=15&_sc=1)

We've got some N-scale cars and buses which will be hitting the website sometime soon, probably early April I'd think.  The buses look fine for 50's-80's, but the cars are a bit more modern styles.
