Did they carry a flag in 1859 or no?

I've got no solid knowledge on the period, but a quick Google image search for '1859 Bersaglieri' throws up re-enactor pics, other companies ranges and some diorama's all showing them with a flag?

So you can pretty much get away with anything you like so long as it's red, green and white.
