It can vary a lot. If I'm looking for something specific it can take a while or end in failure, but I can come across a lot of interesting stuff on the way. I was looking through 4 Spanish blog pages of mostly 13th century pictures, that I had saved in June 2012, when I recognised the picture above as Ian Heath's source. So it took me 20 months to find it, but I wasn't looking for it. Ian Heath rarely gives enough clues to look for something specific.  Once I have a picture Google images makes it easier to find the best picture.
