Hi
I am after some help please. Have any of you ever travelled up to watch or photograph the low level jet fly pasts at the mach loop in mid wales?

I am thinking of going up for the first time in late spring and I am looking for some advice as to best spots, is it worth travelling up night before for an early photo opp etc, or someone who is local and can tell me best time of day/year to come. I know a timetable is published by the RAF, up to 3 weeks in advance but by all accounts its not a lot of use.
Any and all advice welcome,
cheers,
Craig
I notice they didn't bring the super-expensive F-22 down anywhere near hard stuff it could get bent on! :D
I've got a mate in the RAF, so I've popped him a message to see if he's got any tips.
Good vides.

Procedure for getting good aerobatic display
Take a four foot length of drain pipe and a checkered Tea towel.
Place Tea towel on head arab style
Find somewhere prominent to stand in Flight path
When jet comes in site place drainpipe on shoulder SAM 7 style/
Enjoy Impromptue Aerobatic display
Leave area Quckly before Mr Plod, The RAF regiment or a drone mounting Hell fire Missiles appears. :d

No Chance - I might like Orcs but I have never consider Sheep as suitable for anything other then mint sauce.
Besides it always rains in Wales - hang on perhaps that means most the UK is now part of Wales :-\

With all this rain we are getting, anyone seen any empty lakebeds? It must be coming from somewhere.

Blow that. The RAF Regiment have a tendency to play
very rough. :o
Just to follow up on this, I was chatting with a RAF chap at Triples, and he said that the best option would be to contact RAF Brize Norton and ask them about flight/training schedules. Their website is here: http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafbrizenorton/ (http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafbrizenorton/)
