Right - having been sufficicently enigmatic about this over the past couple of days, just to share with you all my news...
I've finished my employment with Somerset Centre for Integrated Learning, the part of Somerset County Council with repsonsibility for Children's Workforce Development, where I headed up Leadership Development and the Somerset Leadership College. It was clear last summer that we would need to restructure again as we head into the next round of cuts (even though we are a traded unit) - so, on the basis that I had achieved pretty much everything I wanted to in that role (and that it was about time I found my next adventure), I put myself forward for voluntary redundancy, which was (reluctantly by my boss) accepted. I wanted to leave at the end of January (rather than March as end of financial year) as our work pattern is linked most closely to the academic year - so from now until Easter we're planning for September - therefore it made more sense for me to leave & not be involved in that (as my role isn't, of course, being replaced).
So - all that was agreed in the autumn...
A whole, long, complicated story ensues - which I won't bore you with - that ends up with an interview last Tuesday, following which I have been appointed to the role of Chief Executive of Somerset Rural Youth Project (an organisation I worked for 2002-05) - details here: www.sryp.org.uk (http://www.sryp.org.uk)
So - a great new challenge, and adventure - starting tomorrow 8)
It's interesting as well - this will be the second CEO role I have had - both in the voluntary sector, and both in organisations that I worked for previously...Some people would tell you never to go back... ;)
Congratulations Nik :D
But enough of that ....About these Fire and Sword lists? ;)
