Anything wargame related I have to buy myself. This year it was 10mm Napoleonic figures which arrived on Monday.

Other than that I got:

Cash  :-bd
Luggage  ~X(
Spices :-bd
Stuff for the grill :-\

No clothes or gift cards this year. I would have rather received Best Buy gift cards so I can buy the Apple TV I keep yearning for.

Sorry to hear that FK.

My family are in the south and got hit with the power outage all over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Luckily not flooded though so small mercies.

I got a nice haul of books, some card games, and because according to my family and in-laws, 'wargaming = GW', the usual haul of vouchers.  This year they'll come in handy for more than paint though.

A couple of t-shirts  ???
and about 20 Timecaste buildings and other terrain bits and pieces for my AWI project  :) I was spotted bringing these home from work a few weeks ago so they were "declared" to be my Christmas present

Fortunately I wasn't spotted bringing the AWI figures or paint home  ;D

Hoping those on the forum in the UK are keeping warm and dry,
Paul

Just about !!

I was in bed around 11 last night listening to the radio.....When there was an ominous sliding, rumbling sound from above my head.
Didn't think it could have been the chimney......(Thought there would have been a far bigger CRASH !!)..

Went down stairs and got dressed....Got outside the back door and went **** !!!.....There was a lake there....Just so much water pouring off the hills.
"Is the drain still working ?"......Yes !!
Oh well...have to divert some of this extra water down the drive....Sorted......Lake starts slowly going as the drain copes with what's left.
Find broken ridge tile on the drive...(So that's what the noise was !)....Deep joy.
Check attic....At least water doesn't seem to be getting in at the moment.

Go back outside....Lake's definitely going....Huzzah !
Check road at bottom of drive........That's a river.....Play touchy-feely in the water to clear debris on top of the drains out there.....The more the drains in the road can cope....The quicker the water outside the back door can get away.

I'm pooped this morning !! ......But it could have been lots and lots worse, like a load of the poor folk that have been flooded out of their homes recently...So I join Paul in his hope !!

Cheers - Phil.

It's quite unbelievable really....
If I hadn't got up to look outside when I did, I might not even have known the lake had ever been there !
Completely gone this morning.
The road now has a little water running down the sides.....The 'torrent' that was almost strong enough to take my feet from under me early this morning.....Disappeared.

What Mrs T and I still can't get our heads around is the sheer volume of water that was about.
Yes.... It was very, very windy.....Yes it was peeing it down with rain....But for what we can get over here....It didn't seem that exceptional.

Only other damage seems to be to an extractor casing on the outside of the house that's had all its 'slats' blown away.....At least I've got a couple of spares of those outside..........Somewhere.... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Cheers - Phil.

I buy all my gaming stuff as wifey just doesn't understand, she's very nice, patient, supportive but doesn't understand gaming so leaves well alone.

But I did get a nice bottlre of malt of mother and several books off the book list, nothing military, and a new telescope with camera adapter :D  unfortunately the 3 weeks since Christmas have bee the wettest and windyest since last Christmas and all I've been able to see so far is a few damp sparrows and lots of wet clouds >:(
