Also alwasy nice to see what might tempt me off the styriaght and narrow with new ranges!

The Plan for 2014
Good day my fellow gamers. Following the examples given I shall post not only my own plans for 2014 but also encourage you to do the same.
My own plan consists of completing some miniature and research projects. Currently I am working on a book how Sealion could , realistically, have been a success but I know you are more interested in what is on the painting table.
For 2014 I want to do the following:
Finish my Dreadball Team (Robots) and get a second team so I can play solo.
I want to get my load of Hypaspists, a Myrmidon and the Comnmand models so I can declare my Neo Isks finished for now.
More CLAUs for the coming release of CTA 2.
Finish a new Triad Strike Team.
Back the AoT Kickstarter.
Finish my two MERCS factions (Keizai Waza and Kem'VAr).
Finish my Aliens and play some Aliens vs Colonial Marines.
Write my own rulesets.
Finish some more Spaceships for my Space Battles ruleset (see above).
Release a fanmade expansion for Urban War.
So what are you planning for the coming year?
sebigboss79
This coming year will see me finish my Burmese (they may be before the end of the year, actually), and doing Successors, Romans, and Carthaginians (lead mountain already), and later on Assyrians and Saitic Egyptians.
And I want to become vaguely competent at Burmese chess, if that counts.
Well I hope to get my 6mm HC army finished
I am finally going to get going on some fantasy from what Luddite has said I like the sound of his rules
Also going to get Dux up and running properly but I am in negotiations with other players to decide on scale
A French WW2 army also appeals..might get a German one to, but as I have never played the Germans in any WW2 game I am not sure about this
Hungarian company for Flames of War, more Falklands and Franco- Prussian units in 10mm. Hoping to get my 1/3000 ships done too.
Then more Later Romans.
After that, no idea... So far out the loop at the moment I have no idea what the current trends are at the club.
Other than adding to my WW2 armies I really want to get on and do the excellent ACW figures I picked up at the Birthday Bash
Finish my 1859 and 1866. Then LoA and 1/600 Yom Kippur.
Chad
Finish off my 1940 British.
1941 Russians
Find something to be Chinese/North Korean infantry 1950 for the Korean War
Finish off & rebase the ACW
1944 British & Germans for the
Then I seem to have found myself buying ancients!
I still haven't painted the Dark Age armies I bought myself as a birthday present - may wait for the Byzantines.
Fantasy/SF/TV involving Predators, Vampires, Dinosaurs, Superheroes, etc, etc
I know if the Pendraken Napoleonic Brits come out there may be a mammoth purchasing splurge there
Then in February ...
Hmmm, initial thoughts are:
- Get more games in; at least once a month.
- Don't buy any more rulesets. This was also my plan at the start of the year but bought CoC, IHMN, Black Powder (again) and Dux Bellorum, although the latter may have been last year :-\.
- Finish off my WWII Brits and Fallschirmjager.
- Paint up more AFVs for use with my AVBCW battlegroups.
- Start a German battlegroup for BKCII (and finish it of course!).
That's enough to be getting on with :D.
First half of the year~???
paint up all the Dropzone Commander stuff that Santas bringing
paint up the FoW Starter Set
paint up about 300 10mm Saxons
buy some Romano-Brits to fight them
paint 2 new infantry brigades for my ACW
should be enough to be getting on with
I'll want to be doing this:
- finish the btirish para's for bkcII
-finish my skirmish models for USE ME WWII (british regulars and paras and germansà
- paint my acw models
-paint mu 2mm napoleonic armies
- 1/900 planes for war at sea
Still doubting:
- survival horror using the new Pendraken zombies
-battle of hastings (need to research more)
- buying 2 forces for basic impetous
- wings of war/sails of glory
My plans are to
Start and finish 10mm d-day British Infantry and support (need landing craft) then the Germans defending the beach
Build Sword beach and then take it to a few shows.
Was toying with WW1 (being the 100th Anniversary of the start of WW1 but decided on the 70th Anniversary of D-Day. Looking to do this for the Royal British Legion.
Regards
Sean

Hi Sean
I will be interested in following this project. My father was in 2 Bn, East Yorkshire Regt at the time.
Regards,
Paul
Hi Paulr
My brother was in the Green Howard's for 9 years.
I've already got 5 Bn's of British Infantry to base and paint.
Also got the Para's for the Pegasus bridge and also some Commando figures on the look out for Lord Lovat and Bill Mirren figures as well as a beach master with a British Bulldog :D
Just need to dig out some copies I've got of the original beach maps and start prepping the beach.
Sean
I have the figures for the following projects which I've to start or already started:
1:2400 Pre-Dreadnaught naval, Germans and British
1:600 1940 Germans and British
1:600 WW1 Aircraft
1:300 WW1 Aircraft
6mm Late Romans, Sassanids, Goths, Huns and Blemmye/ Nobades
6mm French & Russians for 1812
6mm Germans and Russians for 1943
Epic 40K Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Chaos, Eldar and Squats
10mm Germans and Russians for 1943
10mm Sci-fi Skirmish
10mm Warmaster - 2k High Elves, 2k Lizardmen, 2k Chaos, 3k Empire, 1k Albion, 1k Undead
15mm French for 1812
15mm Sci-fi Skirmish
15mm - Late War Germans and Russians for Chain of Command
20mm - Germans and Russians for 1943
20mm Sci-fi skirmish mainly using Dark Futures miniatures.
28mm Mordheim/ RPG Fantasy
28mm 40K Space Marines and Chaos
Lots of duplication and way more than I'll get done in a year!!
I think I ought to offload some of that on EBay!!
Plus I'd like to do Sumerians in 6mm, ACW in 10mm and Samurai in either 28mm or 6mm.
Good grief !! :o :o :o :o....Is that all ?? ;D ;D ;D
Cheers - Phil.
Why does everyone want to do samurai? They were about 5% of most Momoyama Japanese armies.
I'll be doing a new 'What We're Working On' once we get past the 100k.

Interest in Japanese I can understand; not the way most of their troops are disregarded.
true
ashigari can be just as colourful
taiko is a great novel about oda nobunaga
Ithoriel's list looks a lot like mine, but thankfully I'm far too ashamed of my unpainted mountain to actually type it out. Well to tell the truth it'd probably have me feeling like wrist slitting if I actually did list it. But and I will say this with a ringing note of conviction in my voice "No New Projects in 2014!!!". (Thankfully the Dropzone Commander and Flames of War starter boxes are Chrismas pressies, so dont count) ;) ;)

shitaji chubun has added mushrooms?
One of my cats has Nobunaga as his second name. There have also been a Yoshitsune, a Benkei, a Shingen, a Gozen, and an Onoe no Komachi. The youngest kitten has as yet not got a Japanese name, but until the poor dear's out of hospital, I'm holding off on the nomenclature.
Fortunately, they all answer to "Pookie Paws".
My main 10mm projects are as follows some only at the research stage but the two I would like to get finished in 2014 are AZW and CGW
1 Ceasars Galic War. I bought a small celtic/galic army of evilbay but need to add to it
2 French & Indian War. Research stage
3 American War of Independence. Research stage
4 American Civil War. Have painted quite a few regiments but got side tracked
5 American Civil War. 1/600 Naval I bought a load of evilbay
6 World War I. Gave up on this project due to being unhappy with rules
7 World War I I. I have loads of Russians and Germans but may add a few small units
take care
Andy
other than 10mm, I will be continuting to work on my 6mm Napoleonics and hoping to finish of the British and Austrians, get some French Guard done and possibly adding to my miserably small contingent of Russians
Mongols again
the lead pile has diminished quite considerably this year, but still on the list are
15mm Polish-Lithuanian or BFaS
15mm WWII EW Soviets...I'm ashamed to say that I've just ordered 5 Zvezda T35s!
15mm WWII EW Germans
15mm ACW several hundred already done....just a few more....Honest!
10mm Tudor English
10mm WSS Allies, this one is turning into the 12 labours of Hercules as I keep moving these down the painting list!!
10mm WWII EW Germans, haven't even bought these yet....just planning!
regards and Happy Christmas to you all !
Freddy326
I've got 4 big armies that really aren't making much progress on the painting front
Lizardmen
League of Augsberg
Late Romans
Orcs and Goblins
I also have a few ongoing armies that always need a few more units painting
Araby
Empire
and to a less extent High Elves
Then there is WWI, which I don't have too much to paint (yet!)
Then these is new stuff
Mongols
WWI (see above)
something else that catches my eye...
The first 4 on this list are now getting a bit old - I really should get a move on with the lizardmen as I painted up some of the figures as Salamanders for my forces of Nature army, and they painted up quickly and look really good. This is also the army that is most likely to get played.
Erm... Anyone actually read the thread title? ;D
Btw, my wok is really well 'seasoned' these days, even got the in-laws to stop trying to scrub it with fairy!
No, this is the internet after all :P

Samurai, in my case, is a shorthand that covers the whole gamut of Japanese armies of the Sengoku Jidai. So much easier to type "Samurai" than "Samurai, Ronin, Sohei, Ashigaru, Peasants, Bandits, Ikko-Ikki, ships, guns, castles, monasteries .... etc., etc." :)
I've just updated the 'What We're Working On' list now: http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,2583.0.html (http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,2583.0.html)

Sometimes it's good to be reminded!
Unless it's the wife. REminding you of stuff. You know, like, did you feed the dog, put out the trash, where is the kid?
That's right, you forget to pick up the little guy one time at school and she rubs it in everytime ...
