Hi chaps,
OK, so i'm considering a project for 2014 (alongside the WWI commemoration games, SYW Maurice, & 40k ( :-[ ); that game is to finally sort out a Wierd World War Two game set in 1946/47 and done in glorious Pendraken 10mm.
I have a variety of background resources so that's not a problem.
What i'm looking for are some recommendations for a set of rules that will work for the period and are flexible enough to allow me to include the 'wierd' elements.
I want a ruleset that is focussed a company level (you field a company plus company assets).
The only stipulation - no TFL rules.
So what do yout think? What do you use that will give me a good, enjoyable game, and that has the flexibility i'll need to introduce the wierder parts of the setting (late war 'Ratte' type vehicles, armoured infantry, zombies, magic, tesla weapons, etc.)
Although they're not my cup of tea, Secrets of the Third Reich pretty much covers your requirements.
You could consider KR-16 free download rules from Angel Barracks.

I've got them. Terrible, and platoon level rather than company level.
Thanks for the help though Nosher. :)

Nice little set of rules there, but again skirmish/platoon level.
They may scale up...i'll give them some consideration.

Glad you agree Luddite. i felt embarrased suggesting them. Absolutely shocking set but the only ones I could think of and have experience of.
You could try Konflikt 47 (http://www.clockworkgoblinminis.co.uk/downloads.html)which are free to download from Clockwork Goblin.

There seem to be chunks of text missing from that PDF...Never mind - it's OK when I d/l it, it doesn't display properly on Firefox.
Have a look at Rebel Miniatures home page, they always have some cool rules.
Design your own rules mate might seem a little daunting but once your in the zone you'll be hooked plenty of info on internet towards dice probability etc have confidence in yourself and if things are not what you want change them you can do it I have faith in you let us know how you go on and for input if you go down this route.
You could try Poor Bloody Infantry by Peter Pig - based on an 8 *8 set of squares - works well and the game flows well. You would have to make your own extrapolations of attack and defence values.
I could suggest a number of alternatives for WW2 company level but not really sure what you are after - a WW2 game that you can use as a basis for a 46/47 game with your own additions - or a complete 46/47 game already to go.
dont GHQ do a WWW2 set of rules?
It's actually an add-on to their micro armour game:

Sorry Luddite, LH's adoration of TFL rules meant his brain could not compute the bit that said
"The only stipulation - no TFL rules." :)
Why no TFL rules???
