Title: Elephant and Riders on a Bactrian silver disk
Post by: Druzhina on 19 December 2013, 10:15:33 AM
Elephant and Riders on a Bactrian silver disk. (http://warfare2.netai.net/Ancient/Central_Asia-121-large.htm)
This is probably the main source for the drawing of Fig. 183 by Ian Heath in the 1982 edition of 'Armies of the Macedonian and Punic Wars 359BC to 146BC' by Duncan Head.
The tower in the drawing is a lot taller than on the dish. It is difficult to make out the Sea-Horse on the cloth in the photo.

And I've actually GOT the Ian Heath pic that you refer to in that book.
I think that's a first for me. ;)
