Title: Liege
Post by: shawnt63 on 18 December 2013, 03:36:20 PM
I am building up a set piece Demonstration game of Liege using Pendraken Miniatures. I am hoping to do my first run at Trumpeters convention in Vancouver BC, March 2014. I will be using my own Great War Spearhead II rules set for the game - should any of you be in the area and interested in giving it a go please let me know. Alternatively if I cannot get everything ready for Liege - I will still try and run a demo game.

Cheers
Shawn

Sorry Mr T63. I was in jest.  I have a childish sense of humour.

I don't think there's a problem posting them here.

Shawn, you will have to excuse fsn, he is always AARsing about.  I applaud you for putting on a demo game.  I will be in BC this summer - a family wedding up in "the Knife" but unfortunately not around for your game.

If you ask Leon nicely he might be able to post you some Pendraken promotional material/posters perhaps?.  A demo game is the best advertisement known to man  for  selling a range of figures.   Its seeing them played with - all nicely painted and based- as opposed to bare metal at a stall.   I remember a game at Colours some years ago when a punter actually tried to buy an entire unit during a demo !   (They were very nice Foundry figures by the Perry twins).

Keep us posted Shawn.

Thanks Sunray and no worries with fsn - I have a rather broad sense of humour and took it as such :) Liked your AARsing around too lol :)

I will certainly keep you posted. I want to promote some WWI here on the coast. I of course am promoting my own rules but I am also in the process of trying to convince the one local shop to carry Pendraken minis as there is nothing in the 6 - 10mm range locally. Thought if I put on a couple games at the shop with my rules folks might indeed catch the bug!

Which shop is it, as we've just had a trade enquiry from a shop recently?  We're not looking for any new retailers at the moment though, as the combination of being so busy and making almost no money on trade orders makes it hard to keep them viable.  Maybe once we get another caster in, we can look at doing more trade, but they tend to be a lot of work for very little income.

(Of course there are other benefits such as increased visibility, etc)

Hi Leon its a shop called Curious Comics Too - they are a series of about 6 stores here on Vancouver Island (curious comics that is) Curious Comics Too is the first of their shops to be "Miniatures" only - right now they carry Flames of War, Malifeaux and a bunch of other tradable games done by Wizards of the Coast and of course the Zombies Series etc. Not sure if they would have talked with you yet so likely a different store.

Yep, it was a different one.  It's very hard for any of the shops to have stock in these days, as there's not enough demand to warrant it.  Our two main retailers in the US (Warstore and Great Hall Games) both stockpile customer orders and then place a large order each month normally.
