I lost my king to the first shot fired in the battle. Not an auspicious start. Thank heavens for lots of bloodthirsty Swiss! Invaluable troops. Church behind the Genoese by Leven.
The village of Sciocone, with the famed statue of Mario di Gregorio, celebrated condottiere. Also the tercios Cisnero and Castille e Leone advancing a bit too late against my Venetian allies. Pendraken Elizabethans are an adaptable lot, any prospective Frundsbergs out there.
OK, here's Scioccone....
Jinetes, of course. With the Nuremberg Landsknechts. I was pleased at the pike fights, which seemed better reflected by the new rules than by dear ol' DBR. The right troops ended up fighting each other, supporting shot were valuable but not decisive, and attached sword or halberd troops proved their worth.
The genitors. Having some trouble posting two at once.
The Avignon and Picardy legions were surprisingly useful; didn't strike a blow in anger, but the enemy overestimated the threat they posed on the far right and depleted his centre a bit to face them. Which suited me just fine. Pine trees care of Christmas cake decorations on ebay. Note the fountain in Gran' Cazzo. It photographs better than it looks in reality, alas.
(Picture of nude Halle Berry and Nicole Kidman deleted on legal advice. They said they gave Penelope Cruz permission to take that photo so the four of us could have a precious souvenir of a special weekend getaway, not for it to be posted for the delectation of voyeuristic nerds. Sorry to disappoint everyone.)
Great stuff FK ! :-bd
Cheers - Phil.

Love the statue in the village square, FK, and glad the rules worked out well.
And you couldn't possibly have had Nicole Kidman with you - she was with me all weekend. :P
That was the next weekend on her schedule. She emailed actually; said it was a bit like getting off the plane at Luton after a weekend in Venice....
Do you know what Gran'Cazzo means ? :d

Do you think Leon has a special keyboard with just one button on it?

I was in Venice in October - most of it was under water. Grey, wet and inhospitable, believe me. ;)
Ah, the lengths people will go to so they don't have to express the truth about my dreadful painting!
